Aryna Sabalenka

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. (Question about the draw.)

ARYNA SABALENKA: I haven't seen yet.

Q. Do you prefer not to look at the draw?

ARYNA SABALENKA: I think I should be on the bye first round, okay. I'm sure, like, you can tell me who I'm going to play next, who I'm waiting for.

Q. (No microphone.)

ARYNA SABALENKA: Really? I have not much time to check it.

Q. (No microphone.)

ARYNA SABALENKA: It's a tough one. It's going to be, but it's okay.

Q. Tell us about your break.

ARYNA SABALENKA: Well, I had few weeks off, maybe one week off, then I started doing my fitness. Then I've been in Dubai doing the pre-season, enjoying time with my family, with my coaches, team. A lot of work. Nothing new, you know. Every season same thing.

Q. What is this week about for you? What are you hoping to achieve in Adelaide?

ARYNA SABALENKA: Well, I mean, we all here want to win this tournament. I think if I will be able to do that, will really help me in the next tournament, in the next tournament, which is Australian Open for me.

Yeah, I'll do my best here because I feel like I need to play some matches.

Q. You're one of those players who likes to get a lot of matches in?

Q. (No microphone.)

ARYNA SABALENKA: Yeah, I prefer to play some matches, to be in a different situation on court, make sure that in the Grand Slam I'll be ready for everything.

So, yeah, I prefer to play some matches.
