LPGA Q-SERIES

December 9, 2022

Aline Krauter

Mobile, Alabama, USA

Magnolia Grove

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Aline Krauter. I know it's hard to back up a round like yesterday with a round like today. But, hey, managed to stay in the 60s. Just evaluate your round out there.

ALINE KRAUTER: It was a lot of fun today, but definitely more of a struggle than yesterday. Less putts dropped. A lot of lipped out putts or just short, just long.

I had a double bogey in there which wasn't too fun. So there were a lot of up and downs, but it was great to follow today with an under-par round.

Q. How do you stay patient in those moments? I know you're kind of a tried and true vet out there. Still, like it's got to be frustrating a little bit. How do you keep yourself in check?

ALINE KRAUTER: I mean, it was hard today. I feel like playing late in the day the greens get grainier, more bumpy with everyone having been on them. So it was definitely hard to stay patient the last couple holes.

But, I mean, I do my best. My caddie reminds me a lot to stay patient and it's not necessarily me, it's just it is what it is. Yeah, I think I still did a good job staying patient, yeah.

Q. What did you learn maybe today? Obviously going to be playing late the next two days. What did you learn today that you'll probably carry with you to Saturday and Sunday?

ALINE KRAUTER: I think same thing as yesterday: Hitting small spots, finding good targets, all that good stuff. I think it's not much more than that.

And then obviously staying patient and getting on the greens. I think that's going to be huge.

Q. You mentioned Gary. Obviously kind of a vet out on the LPGA Tour. What does it mean to have that kind of guy on your bag on one of the more stressful weeks of the year?

ALINE KRAUTER: It's great. He always has the right things to say and always knows where to hit it. He's obviously super prepared. We talk about the pins every morning, just things like that.

He's pretty funny, so that definitely helps.

Q. Let's not count the eggs before they hatch, but two more rounds here. Pretty close at this point. What would it mean just to be able to achieve that dream finally?

ALINE KRAUTER: I mean, it would mean the world, yeah. Probably getting emotional because it would mean so, so much.

I know my brother is going to caddie for me the first half of the season next year no matter where that season is played for me, so that would be super exciting.

And, yeah, this would definitely be a dream come true.

Q. Talked about it a little bit yesterday, but you're playing LET Q-School next week. What's going through your head thinking about you have two days left here and you got to go learn a whole different golf course on basically a whole different side of the world next week?

ALINE KRAUTER: Yeah, it'll be a lot for sure, a lot of golf. But I feel like at this stage I've played so much golf in a row now, might as well play another week. Doesn't feel like too much at this point. I mean, we'll see coming next week.

But, yeah, I'm excited to see my brother, and my grandpa who lives in Spain. I'll see him, so it'll be fun.

Q. Finally, playing under Anne Walker at Stanford, obviously no stranger to a lot of golf in a short amount of time. How much do you think that's helped you?

ALINE KRAUTER: It's helped me a whole lot. It's also helped me a whole lot that I've had great teammates the entire way. I mean, we were fighting for those first five spots at all times. I mean, Coach Walker did such a good job managing that as well. There is obviously a lot of pressure and a lot of like that going on, but, yeah, it helped me whole a lot for sure.
