LPGA Q-SERIES

November 19, 2022

Karen Chung

Mobile, Alabama, USA

Magnolia Grove

Quick Quotes

Q. So 2-under round, correct?

KAREN CHUNG: Yes.

Q. Perfect. Bogey-free front nine. How did it feel kind of making the turn and then just finishing the round out?

KAREN CHUNG: You know, it's the third day in and I'm kind of getting tired. I know everybody is here, but I just tried to stay as consistent as possible, and definitely the front nine was really clean.

Kind of got there in a rollercoaster ride on the back nine, but it is what it is.

Q. And then right now do you know where you're sitting?

KAREN CHUNG: I have no idea. I haven't even checked my phone.

Q. Do you want to know?

KAREN CHUNG: Sure.

Q. You are currently tied for the lead heading into the final 18.

KAREN CHUNG: Oh, nice.

Q. And how does that feel, and how to you think about tomorrow?

KAREN CHUNG: As long as I just make it through I'll be happy. The fact that I'm tied for first right now, that makes me even happier. But I'm not really going to think about it because I know tomorrow is supposed to be a hurricane.

So I'm just going to try to stay alive and we'll see where it goes.

Q. And then obviously whether you're first or 45th you're going to be advancing to Q-Series. How will you remind yourself tomorrow with it being the last day to stay patient and in your own game and do what you do best?

KAREN CHUNG: You know, I think I just got to press that even more tomorrow just because the weather is going to be just as bad -- or even worse. So pars will definitely be good tomorrow.

I think it'll get me through until final series, so we'll see how it goes.

Q. Awesome. And then just with four days of golf, how do you stay patient and remind yourself that pars are your friend out there and just keep positive so that it translates into good results?

KAREN CHUNG: It's definitely hard. I lost my mind out there towards the back nine today, but I had my caddie out there, my boyfriend. So he kind of, you know, brought me back to reality and was like, hey, pars are good. Nobody is going super low out they are week.

Yeah, just tried to hang on.
