CME GROUP TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

November 19, 2022

Lydia Ko

Naples, Florida, USA

Tiburon Golf Club

Flash Interview

THE MODERATOR: Here with Lydia Ko. A little of an up-and-down day. Unlike what we saw to you from you the first two days. What was the biggest challenge out there today?

LYDIA KO: I think it was a little breezier today, but overall I still thought I played really solid. A few putts here and there that could have, should have, would have. But, you know, it was one of those days where probably it wasn't, like, that much different, but from not taking advantage of some of the par-5s and all that was probably the few shots that made it a difference during the last couple of days.

I still felt like I hit the ball really solid, and when it's windy, I feel like your margin of error is much smaller. Even if you don't hit, like, the greatest shots, it just gets emphasized a little bit more. I think that's just what makes it trickier.

Obviously, there were some really low scores out there, and I feel like that happens every day, so I knew that going into today even though I had a lead, it could go really quick even if I still played solid.

So, you know, it was a day that could have been worse. It could have been better, but still I thought I stayed really patient out there, and to finish 2-under for the day I think was solid.

Q. There's wind in the forecast again for tomorrow as well as some wet conditions expected. How will you regroup for tomorrow's final round?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I saw the weather forecast. When I first saw it, it was just clouds and then showers and then clouds, then showers. So I was, like, please make up your mind. The precipitation is only, like, 30-something percent, so it may or may not come.

Having lived in Florida, it might be 0%, and it could still hit you. Everyone is going to play the same conditions. With it being wet, obviously the course will play a little longer, but other than that, I think the wind direction is pretty similar to the last few days. So that's something that I can kind of rely on and just play my own game.

This is the top 60 players of the LPGA Tour here, so you know that it's not going to be easy, and I just want to play good golf and golf that I don't regret. And whatever happens at the end of tomorrow, you know, hopefully it swings my way, but if not, I'm just going to try my best and enjoy it.
