ARAMCO TEAM SERIES - JEDDAH ROUND FIVE

November 11, 2022

Pia Babnik

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Royal Greens Golf and Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. So you shot a 65 out there today, you walked off and you didn't have a smile on your face. I think that's a sign of how scorable you think this course is out there and how disappointing you are despite shooting a 65. Explain why.

PIA BABNIK: No, actually I'm really happy. I played really good today. Just because from the end, I hit really good shots that the wind stopped, so I was really frustrated. But overall I am really happy with the round I played.

I really played well, had myself a lot of chances. So yeah, really happy.

Q. The wind is the main defense of this course. It always blows here and always comes off the sea, so I guess you have to sort of take that on the chin sometimes; that the wind is going to mess up your ball flight or it is going to cost you a bogey but you can always bounce back at another stage and get a birdie?

PIA BABNIK: Yeah, of course. But today especially, I felt like it was dying in between. So like, it started to blow and then just stopped. So that's not what usually is here, but overall, like I said, I'm really happy.

Q. You must have such happy memories coming back here. Of course we remember your win here. How much confidence did you have coming into this week that you could do something exactly the same and have another good week?

PIA BABNIK: Yeah, I really like this course despite the wind because it's really wide open. So yeah, I'll just try to do my best tomorrow.

Q. The Solheim Cup captain is here this week. I know she is looking at you. Obviously she's looking at lots of players but I know she's looking at you. Is that on your mind at all, this competition, or trying to impress or is that not something you're thinking about?

PIA BABNIK: Well, not really. I just try to play my own game but it would be great if I could be on the Solheim Cup. It not something that I'm going to be like, somebody is watching you. I just try to play my own game despite if someone is watching.
