NASCAR CUP SERIES: XFINITY 500

October 30, 2022

Chase Elliott

Ridgeway, Virginia

Pit Lane Interview

Q. Chase, led some laps. I know the end didn't go exactly how you wanted to. What were you battling at the end of the race today?

CHASE ELLIOTT: We just got back a little further obviously than we had been throughout the day. Track position was everything unless you were just a couple of guys. Denny passed his way up there really well.

But, yeah, thought it was a really solid day. We did what we needed to do on the driver side. Didn't make the owners thing. That's kind of a double-edged deal, kind of sucks.

Nice to have a shot at the drivers championship next weekend. Wish we could have got the boss two cars in there. Bummed for that, bummed for him. But nonetheless, excited to get out there and give it our best shot to try to get another big trophy.

Q. Your third straight Championship 4 appearance. How do you prepare yourself this week to go after another title?

CHASE ELLIOTT: Try to have a strong week of preparation, look through the things that we have access to. Obviously the spring race was a long time ago, a lot has changed since then with the cars, just kind of where everybody is at.

Yeah, looking forward to getting out there and really getting home first, thinking through everything. We'll be ready to go come next weekend. I don't have any doubt about that.
