ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2022

October 27, 2022

Babar Azam

Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Perth Stadium

Pakistan

Post Match Media Conference

Zimbabwe 130/8, Pakistan 129/8

Q. Babar, obviously a pretty heartbreaking loss. What went wrong there at the end?

BABAR AZAM: To be honest, we are not up to the mark, starting with the first six overs in the bowling, but later on we finished well. But in the batting time, we have our collapse. When me and Rizwan out, then Shan and Shadab built a partnership, but after that Shadab out and then we have a collapse and we are not finish well.

Q. Do you think going in with the extra sort of bowler, do you think that sort of backfired in the end?

BABAR AZAM: No, I don't think so, because in this pitch required fast bowlers, so we have that planning, so we have extra fast bowler.

Q. How do you think Pakistan can sort of regroup from this? Obviously two basically pretty devastating losses. I guess the chances for the semis are now pretty slim. How can you sort of regroup this team?

BABAR AZAM: To be honest, it's hard, but we have two days, and we'll have a sit together and discuss. We will come back stronger.

Q. When it's been two losses like that in a row, how much harder is that, because it's kind of one after the other?

BABAR AZAM: Very hard as a team or as a captain. But today we are not up to the mark in all three departments, but we'll sit and discuss the mistakes and then we'll come back strongly.
