Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Royal Greens Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Welcome Turk Pettit who is on Team Niblicks and who just got engaged last night on the Red Sea, and Jediah Morgan on Team Torques, congratulations on two great rounds. Welcome, guys.

So Turk, how long have you been planning this engagement question?

TURK PETTIT: Well, I was going to do it soon, but probably a couple weeks, three weeks? I thought about doing it in Thailand last week but there wasn't a good spot and worst case scenario, I just did it on the Red Sea, so did it last night.

Q. And you had no qualms about what the response would be.

TURK PETTIT: I was pretty positive she was going to say yes.

Q. Obviously it's a very important tournament for your potential status for next year on live golf. Can you talk about going into this week and how much you guys need to have a really strong finish this week?

TURK PETTIT: Yes, probably both of us, we are lucky to be here at the start of the year, to get through a full season has been second-to-none. No experience can replace it, that's for sure. But yeah, we both know obviously we need a good week to be out here next year, and the experience has just been awesome.

But we've got nothing to lose. There's no point getting caught up in that.

JEDIAH MORGAN: Yeah, nothing to lose. Still going to tee it up somewhere. You've just got to take it one shot at a time and see what happens

Q. Talk about your rounds, and obviously playing in windy conditions, very hot weather. How did you like it out there today?

TURK PETTIT: I would say I like the heat. I'm from the south; I don't mind it being hot. But yeah, it's windy. Especially on certain holes, you've got to hit some good shots, and you know, that's about it.

You've just got to hit good shots when it's windy.

JEDIAH MORGAN: The first nine wasn't too bad. Teeing off this late, you have to expect it coming off the sea there. Are to one nine, you're going to play tough and one nine you're not going to play tough. The more you can hold onto your nine coming in is kind of the plan and roll those putts in.

Q. Can you give more details on the proposal? Did you have the ring?

TURK PETTIT: Pretty much we were just having dinner on the beach, we were having sushi and was just going to wait and do it at sunset and sunset came around and just like, "Will you marry me?"

She actually said, "You're joking! You're lying!" Like five times, and then she said yes.

But other than that it was pretty good and we took some pictures, and, yeah, here we are.

Q. In Bangkok you got to within five shots of the lead, bogey on 9, and the wheels seemed to fall off a little bit coming in. You had a bogey today but managed to follow with up with a birdie. Were you better mentally today?

JEDIAH MORGAN: Last week was the first time I felt like I could do something with the tournament, the first few events any ways, and that was nice and a few more emotions came up. I just had to deal with that again and I finished strongly that day which was good, and got back into gear this week and hopefully I can just get the team across the line. That's what I'm more concerned with this week, hopefully going to Miami if we get in and I'd love to see us on top of that podium, more than myself on top of that individual stuff.

Yeah, hopefully both come.

Q. Put your good form down today to anything in particular?

JEDIAH MORGAN: It's just been building I guess. The stuff's been there over the last kind of few months but has not kind of come out the way I would have liked, but I don't know, just playing better.

Q. Wasn't your hair longer at the start of the season?

JEDIAH MORGAN: It was, yeah, but I felt that Cameron Smith was coming, so that's why I cut it.

Q. And Turk, how long have you guys been together?

TURK PETTIT: Like two years. Just over two years. So we met in college.
