St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland
Q. 2-under par in horrendous conditions. Happy with a 70?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: 100 per cent. It got to a point where it wasn't even golf. It was just the best attitude got you through the game, and today I was playing with somebody I get on really well with in Tyrrell, and we just had a laugh.
I'm soaked through. I've got water in my shoes. I just had to laugh all the way. I mean, it's the way I play my best golf is with a smile on my face.
Q. Golf game-wise, what did you do particularly well? Did you hit it great? Did you hole a lot of putts?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: I didn't do anything really. I just tapped it in where I could see it. I got lucky on 11. I got lucky with the tee shot. Other than that, I just poked it around the golf course. Got it in play and just managed -- I didn't miss many greens but I just got it there or thereabouts.
It's a day you can't be perfect. It's just about being mediocre and make sure you don't make a big mistake.
Q. What was the most difficult aspect?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: For me, driving the golf ball. I struggle when it gets windy across off the right and with the friction in the, face with the water it becomes impossible for me. So I start aiming further right and then lose it further left. It's a difficult one. But we knew that was happening, and we just started to poke it around at the end.
Q. Going into the weekend at St Andrews, great position in the championship, how excited are you about the possibilities?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: I haven't seen the scores but I guess it's a decent one today. I'm playing well. My game is in great shape and just going to enjoy myself, keep smiling and hopefully tomorrow do the same.
