Atthaya Thitikul

The Colony, Texas, USA

Golf Clubs at The Tribute

Quick Quotes

Q. We were just talking about it. It's a firm, fast golf course out there today. You figured it out though. 5-under, 66. You had three birdies in a row on your front nine, which was the back nine today. Walk me through your round.

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, actually I going to say like the course is pretty different than last week. It's a big change. Pretty firm and, you know, like every hole it's run-out and the green, it's tricky as well.

But, yeah, pretty good today. I mean, like I had a good game. Like hitting pretty good. Get myself a lot of chance to make a birdie.

Q. Had three in a row there. What was going through your mind on those three holes?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Nothing. (Laughter.) Like I said earlier, I don't really like the course. I mean, like it's kind of tricky and hard because like it's so many bunker, just go driver and 3-woods.

And, yeah, I think just like because I don't really think too much on the course because, like I said, I don't really like it.

Then I just keep hitting it as good as possible.

Q. What was working really well for you? Obviously sound like you were mashing your woods today. How was your putting out there?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, I just hit it, and then it's run-out like up in the rough so many holes, but I just like, oh, it's okay. I think it's really good hit. I mean, like I had a good hit already but it just end up there, so who can help you there?

And then just I think for this course you just be patient on it. It's a key I guess.

Q. What did you learn today maybe with some of those run-outs or places you ended up that you didn't want to be that you will carry into tomorrow and maybe adjust some of those tee shots?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, the course is pretty, like you said, pretty dry. I think it's been -- we have to think about the wind as well. Like it's not that -- the wind is really windy as well, so I think it's depending on the wind. So we will see tomorrow how to adjust it.

Q. Feels like it was a little bit milder this afternoon. Did you find that out there? Did it kind of lay down a little bit?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, I think so. Because when I started it's pretty windy, but in the middle of the round it's not really much.

But tomorrow should be windy. I mean, like the course is not -- it's wide open, not really had a big tree out there, so hopefully we'll get it tomorrow with the wind.
