Quick Quotes

Q. The team of Jordan and Justin. 3-0 now this week. We've talked so much about your longstanding friendship. Do either of you remember the first time you played golf together?

JUSTIN THOMAS: I do. It was a tournament.

JORDAN SPIETH: Mansfield, Texas.

JUSTIN THOMAS: Yeah, Mansfield, Texas. Jordan won, and I didn't win. I appreciate you bringing that up.

Q. Is it easier to play with the lead or chase it?

JORDAN SPIETH: I mean, if you're trying to win a point, at some point you've got to be leading. So it's easier to play with a lead. You have momentum, especially with a home crowd. Sometimes it's a little harder to come back when you're on the road and you're down.

We were down the first time this week in this match just through two holes, and then we got it right back on the 3rd. So we didn't quite have our best stuff, but, you know, we made some putts when we needed to and J.T. hit some great iron shots today and really picked me up on a few holes, and that's what you need to do in this format.

Q. But there is the pressure of playing with a big lead, especially in an event like this?

JUSTIN THOMAS: For sure there is. But I think all of us have a good mindset, and we're very fortunate where we have such an experienced team to where a lot of guys have won, won at very big stages. So that means that they likely played with the lead and understand that it's just one foot in front of the other, hit the next shot the best that you can.

Especially in alternate shot where you are relying on your partner somewhat, but it's also out of your control, can sometimes make that easier. I feel like we have a good grasp of it.

Q. Clearly, three matches, three points.

Q. Justin, what kind of excitement is there to play alongside your great friend, Jordan Spieth, and combined you get another point at the Presidents Cup for your team.

JUSTIN THOMAS: Yeah, it's the best. I think we were all talking about it last night, and I know I talked to Max about it a while. It's just, obviously, if you could choose, you know, you'd rather win a major. You'd rather win a PGA TOUR event. Those mean and maybe do more for your career.

But these are just -- it's just more fun. It truly is more fun. Winning points for your team, getting to celebrate and kind of embrace the crowd, you can't beat it.

Q. So, Jordan, the streak is alive. I'm not talking about you guys winning matches. I'm talking about Jordan's Creek, as named by Justin yesterday.

Once again, you guys were able to save the hole, coming out of the creek?

JORDAN SPIETH: Yeah, it was the first time the ball's actually gone in the water though. So let's make that clear. And we've parred the other two times. It's a tough hole. So really, that was just the first time we played the hole poorly.

JUSTIN THOMAS: Yeah.

Q. But you had a lot of fun out there for the victory. Thank you so much. Congrats on the win.
