Q. Not the result you would have wanted. What do you think the difference was today? Not enough impact on his first serve?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Well, I think he played really, really good. I stay on the match, like, for two hours. I didn't make mistakes. I would say in the 4-All in the second set, I mean, I did a couple mistake I couldn't do.

Yeah, he serve pretty well, as well. I mean, I didn't come with very good condition, physical condition. Very, very tough. The court is very slow. I had just two days for adapt my game into this court.

Q. Can you talk about the atmosphere, the crowd. Absolutely electric out there.

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Yeah, of course. This is Davis Cup. We are playing in Spain. Of course, it was unbelievable live something like this in the Davis Cup.

I love playing in Spain. I love playing in front my crowd, my people. So at the same time I'm so happy to play in front of them, trying to make them happy, you know? Of course, it was unbelievable.

Q. Can you let us know what it's been like, the reception coming back to Spain as world No. 1 and US Open champion?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Yeah, I wanted to come back to Spain to share this moment, to be No. 1, to be US Open champion, with all my people.

Yeah, I mean, I always love to come back to Spain, my family, my friends, here with the team as well. I'm so, so happy to come back and of course share this moment with all of them.
