THE MODERATOR: Some questions in English. How pleased are you with winning such a wonderful match?

JANNIK SINNER: Oh, for sure, it was a tough match. Before I knew kind of what to expect. It was my first match after US Open. The conditions are completely different. I came a little bit later here, just because I had to recover my body a little bit, and, no, I think I can be proud.

It was a tough match, tough challenge, but the most important is to give the point to Team Italy, you know. Be happy to go to Malaga, no? It's just the most important.

THE MODERATOR: How are you feeling physically from the long trip from the States and playing here?

JANNIK SINNER: I came here because I recovered full. I knew the first match is not going to be easy. Also the movement, because it's indoors, it's a heavy indoor court, was not easy also because the tennis balls are quite big, no, and quite slow.

But as I said, I can be happy about the performance. I know that I can play better, but, you know, as I said, the most important is to give the point to us.

THE MODERATOR: Do you think Italy is one of the favorites now in the final eight?

JANNIK SINNER: I mean, let's see. For sure we have an incredible team, no? Me and Matteo, Lorenzo, and two very, very incredible doubles players with Fabio and Simone. Good captain. We have a good and a strong team, because we feel very familiar all together when we eat or when we practice together.

You know, this is a team, so I'm very happy to be part of this team.
