Kurt Kitayama

Marco Simone Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. 8-under for the tournament. Is this a sense of relief when you walk away from a day like this with a 67?

KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, I mean, the wind kind of went crazy those last few holes. You know, it was nice to get off the course after going through that.

Q. What was the bigger challenge out there today, was it the mental side of things or the physical aspect?

KURT KITAYAMA: Definitely mental. For a while the wind was down and it felt pretty easy and all of a sudden it just switched completely and played extremely difficult. So mentally you had to adjust to that.

Q. Patience a big factor; is there anything that you do to help keep your patience out there?

KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, absolutely. I kind of move slowly. Sometimes unfortunately you have to slow down. It gets hectic with all this wind and you're trying to figure everything out. Biggest thing is just got to slow down.

Q. 4-under today. What would you have said to yourself was a good score before going out in the third round?

KURT KITAYAMA: You know, it wasn't blowing like this when I was warming up. I would have said 6 or 7 probably would have been nice. But then it was a completely different golf course coming down the stretch, so I think anything under par was good.
