3-6, 6-3, 6-36-2, 6-2
Sweden - 2
Argentina - 1
THE MODERATOR: Elias, what a first match with your singles. How proud are you with the win, opening the door for this victory for Sweden?
ELIAS YMER: Yeah, as you said, I'm very happy. We knew that we had a tough group. Argentina is a very tough tennis nation. I knew that if I would win, it would open up the match a lot.
I'm just very happy to finish it. Doesn't matter how you finish it, just that we got the win.
THE MODERATOR: How are you physically for the next ties?
ELIAS YMER: That's why it took some time, that you had to wait a bit. We took care of the body well. Tomorrow is a day off. Thursday we go again.
THE MODERATOR: Captain, how pleased are you with the 2-1 win when I think Elias said, We are the underdogs? You started quite strong.
CAPTAIN HEDSBERG: Yeah, it's very impressive of the boys, what they did today. I'm very proud and happy about the performance.
THE MODERATOR: Andre, one of the things for Sweden, the competition, doubles are really important. How do you feel you performed today ahead of two tough doubles against Italy and Croatia in the coming days?
ANDRE GORANSSON: I think it was a good match today. We played a good first set. Early break in the second. Unfortunately we couldn't convert. They played well. They were really on us early there.
Thought it was a good match. I think if we get another chance, we'll play better for the upcoming teams. Obviously, all the teams, countries, are playing at a very high level. Have to continue fighting. Hopefully we can play even better next time.
