Connecticut Sun

Game 2: Postgame

Las Vegas Aces 85, Connecticut Sun 71

Q. For any one of you ladies, you are 3-0 in elimination games in this postseason, how do you lean on that confidence knowing you're going back home to a hostile environment and they will have your back?

JONQUEL JONES: We are taking it one game at a time. That's all we can do. We are going to go back home, like you said. We are going to have our fans behind us, who have been with us all season, and we are going to use that to propel us to a win and that's all we can do.

Q. Curious what you thought the major differences were between how you all defended the Aces on Sunday and how you defended them today?

JONQUEL JONES: I think they were just extremely aggressive. I think we did a better job of playing one-on-one defense in Game 1 and we didn't do as well of a job this game and I think that was the major difference, them just putting their heads down and getting to the basket and being able to finish through contact or getting to the free-throw line.

Q. Courtney, you guys were able to see more opportunity getting to the basket and wreaking more havoc, is that something you saw on film from Game 1 to Game 2 and do you think you'll be able to replicate that going into Game 3 at home?

COURTNEY WILLIAMS: I think I was just told to slow down a little bit, and that's what I did, just kind of picked my spots and played with better pace. Just picking my spots and slowing down and letting the game come to me a little bit more.

Q. Vegas has really seemed like tried to limit you all on the boards. What have you seen from them to really get better positioning or contested you guys there and how will that be a big key going into the rest of the series for you guys to get back to that identity?

ALYSSA THOMAS: Yeah, they were really trying not to let us get the o boards. I think Game 1 we were pretty successful on getting to the o boards and second chances. For us, we have to take better shots at times. We took a lot of quick shots that it makes us hard to get in position to rebound. Yeah, we just go back, watch video and adjust and we'll be ready for Game 3.

Q. Chelsea Gray was nearly unguardable tonight, hitting a lot of fadeaway shots and had that inside pass, and pass on the low post. Like, what are your thoughts?

COURTNEY WILLIAMS: I don't got no thoughts. We are going to rock out. We got a Game 3, we going to get to it.

Q. Jonquel, what is the mindset going into Game 3? Is it pretty much the same answer?

JONQUEL JONES: Yeah, I mean, we have another opportunity. That's why it's a series and like I said before, we're going home and we're going in front of our fans and we are going to use it to help us win the game.
