US OPEN

August 29, 2022

Dominic Thiem

New York, New York, USA

Press Conference

P. CARRENO BUSTA/D. Thiem

7-5, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3

THE MODERATOR: Tough day. Your thoughts on the match.

DOMINIC THIEM: I think that it was not bad at all the whole match. Probably intensity-wise and shots-wise the best since Paris.

Yeah, a lot of good things to take from this match. I think everybody who thought that I was the favorite today was far away from reality.

I mean, Pablo has a great season. He won Montreal. He's a two-times semifinalist here. I'm just still in the process of coming back.

Yeah, I'll take a lot of good things from today and going to move on.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. You're the first player to commit to the Watergen 250 in Tel Aviv at the end of September. You've been coming to Israel since you were a junior. Can you share your experiences there, playing in Israel, some of the favorite things you've done, your impressions of the country.

DOMINIC THIEM: Yeah, I've been to Eilat and Tel Aviv for futures quite a lot of time. I really enjoy the city, especially Tel Aviv. It's a very lively and nice city with great, great restaurants, great food, good lifestyle.

I'm really happy to be back there soon. Hopefully it's going to be a great tournament there.
