KROGER QUEEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY P&G

September 11, 2022

Ally Ewing

Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Kenwood Country Club

Golf Channel

Q. Ally, I watched you putt yesterday. That is as good as I've seen you putt. Your husband, Charlie shows up. I know you didn't know. How difficult was it to stay patient out there this season and maybe not make some switches and changes?

ALLY EWING: Just the key has been knowing it's in there. The change that I made in the couple weeks before Canada was big in just shortening the back stroke. In Canada I was really close to putting some stuff together, but still kind of a little finicky.

This week, like you said, I saw putts go in. Once I saw them go, I had that confidence.

Q. What are you telling yourself going through the season like you have. You know you can win. You've won. What are you telling yourself to keep positive?

ALLY EWING: Yeah, I mean, a lot of it has just been trying to lean on what I've seen myself do. Obviously I've got an incredible support system, my coaches, my family, my husband, and they just keep drilling in me, it's there. I promise it's there. Just keep working at it. It's there.

And I just really trusted it and knew that if I kept working at it, it was going to be there.

Q. Women at Mississippi State last week. You some good golf. Charlie told them, do your job. You were told, do your job. How were you able to do your job today?

ALLY EWING: Yeah, I mean, I think in the first eight holes it was just pars. I don't think I missed any greens. I was just kind of two-putting. I hit a couple good putts, but think a big putt for me was that par putt I made on 7. It was a six-footer, but I saw a six-footer go in and was able to get to 9 and roll in an 18-footer down the hill.

Kind of calmed my down. But I struggled with nerves all day because I just haven't been able to put this together for a full tournament this year.

So to see it and all the results finally come into place, it's really exciting.

Q. A lot of people proud of you. I'm proud of you. Thanks for spending some time with us.

ALLY EWING: Thank, Jim.
