Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Maria Fassi. Career best on the LPGA Tour in any individual tournament. Overall your thoughts over the past four days.

MARIA FASSI: Just very, very happy. I mean, I could say I fell short, you know, I could look at all the negatives, but I'm extremely proud of how we fought this week, how well we played.

And being in contention is a place where I want to be a lot more, so it's definitely a huge incentive. At the same time, just a huge pat on the back for all the work we been doing.

Q. Doing a little research last night, I believe this was your first Sunday final grouping on the LPGA Tour. What did today mean to you in terms of using that as experience for what's to come down the road?

MARIA FASSI: Yeah, it was, like you said, first time in the final group, and is it started a little bit rocky, which in way it's good because I know there is some things that I can learn from moving forward.

Again, just proud with the birdies 10 through 12 and giving myself chances on the back nine, and, you know, putting some pressure on both Janet and Ally. I think it backfired because I pissed them off a little bit too much.

It was awesome. Yesterday and today like with the groups we had, it was fantastic to play with them. To see both Ally and Janet go at it today was super special.

Again, just very proud of myself, of the week that I had, and excited for the next few events.

Q. I was going to ask, how important were those three consecutive birdies after the turn? You were in it the whole entire time and those birdies really put you back up there.

MARIA FASSI: Yeah, I mean, I think they definitely brought a lot of hope. They created good momentum on my game. They allowed me to loosen up a little bit.

I was in it. I was fighting. I told Gary on the 18th hole, I said, we went down fighting. I got outplayed, and all I can do is clap and be happy for them.

I know there is going to be plenty more Sundays for me to have the trophy.

Q. One of those things you talked about earlier in the week was where you were on the race to CME points list. You weren't where you wanted to be. This certainly jumped you up on that. How does that feel after an accomplishment like this tournament?

MARIA FASSI: It's huge. I mean, I've been with my back against the ropes all freaking year, so it's pretty cool to at least, you know, be able to take a breather and be in a better place than I've been all year.

Again, I love the next few tournaments that we have coming up. They're great golf courses. Of course we have Arkansas in a couple weeks, and just very happy to be going back home.

So I just want to continue to build off what this week was and hopefully end the year playing at Tiburon.
