September 10, 2022

Xiyu Lin

Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Kenwood Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Xiyu Janet Lin. Another solid day. 2-under. How are you feeling after that round?

XIYU LIN: Today the course definitely start to be a lot more challenging after everything dries up. I mean, especially the greens today is really firm. Also we have lots of good pin position.

So I think overall I didn't feel like play my best today, but I stay really patient. It's nice to have -- did I have birdie, par, par, something like that?

Like make a birdie the last couple holes, and then par the last two, which is pretty good.

Q. You talked a lot this week and even last week about keep knocking on the door. Still looking for the first win. You're three back. You definitely are knocking. What have you been thinking about this week? Still that same mindset?

XIYU LIN: Yeah, for sure. I mean, tomorrow I guess I will be in the last group again, and, I mean, this course you really just to have get it going. Like you have to have a couple putts drop or you have to knock a couple close one, just like Ally today.

I have nothing to lose and already have three good days, so I'm just going to keep being positive and keep chasing, yeah.

Q. I don't know if aggressive is the word to describe you, but are you going to try to be a little bit more aggressive tomorrow?

XIYU LIN: Yes, I mean, today playing the last couple holes I keep telling myself some really positive talk before I walk into a shot or walk into a putt.

So I think I'm going to keep saying that to myself. You know, when I have a chance, I definitely aim at the pin.

Q. What would it mean to become the second Chinese winner on the LPGA Tour behind your friend, Shanshan Feng?

XIYU LIN: I've been thinking about it for a long time, like since last year there as of couple time I got really close.

Obviously that's something after Shanshan retire, that's all our Chinese girl, you know, like that's the target like we been chasing for.

I mean, but it's a tough tour. It's tough to compete on LPGA, so I just going to keep telling myself to be patient as well and just see what tomorrow brings, yeah.
