BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

September 10, 2022

Thomas Detry

Virginia Water, Surrey, England

Wentworth Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Second round 65; what is it about the closing holes you seem to like so much?

THOMAS DETRY: Three par 5s on back nine, all reachable in two, and every time you hit a good drive, you can go for it, and I gave myself a couple of good chances for eagle as well. Yeah, I love the place, love the course. Obviously when it's playing soft and no wind will be easier as well.

Q. Are you more aggressive this year than maybe you would have been in the past because of the conditions?

THOMAS DETRY: Yeah, definitely. For example, tee shots on No. 15 which are usually a tough tee shot because the fairway is bouncy, it's firm and you can be quite a aggressive in the fairway because it just bounces and pitches and stays there. Same with the greens, you can go right at it and the ball doesn't move. The last hole I hit 4-iron that pretty much pitched and stopped.

Q. Do you change your mindset at all because this has been changed to a 54-hole event?

THOMAS DETRY: Not at all. Today felt like a Saturday to me, playing well and in contention. I think I'm going to approach it as a Sunday and that's it.
