LIV GOLF INVITATIONAL SERIES: BOSTON

September 3, 2022

Sergio Garcia

Boston, Massachusetts, USA

The International

Press Conference

Q. First of all, what was your reaction when you heard you were going to be able to wear shorts?

SERGIO GARCIA: I was happy as Larry. I've been wanting to wear shorts playing for a long while. You know, it's nice. I think it's just another step forward towards getting more connected with the fans, making the game younger, fresher. I'm glad that we all decided to take this step forward, and it's fun.

Q. Can you just talk about your round today; obviously you played well and the Fireballs got back up into the mix.

SERGIO GARCIA: Yes. Obviously we needed a good day after yesterday to try to get back on a close position to at least be in the top three. Obviously there were a lot of good scores out there. But I felt like I played very nicely. I got some good stretches throughout my round.

Just a shame about my bad tee shot on 6, my second-to-last hole, and my only bogey of the day.

Other than that, it was nice. It was nice to post a couple good rounds from the team and from myself and the rest of the guys. We're going to need another couple good ones tomorrow. We want to keep finishing in the top 3 like we've done the last couple of tournaments.

Q. Are you getting tired of seeing the Four Aces at the top?

SERGIO GARCIA: Well, obviously you just have to look at the quality of players they have. Obviously DJ, we know how solid and how good he is; Patrick is super solid, too; Talor has been playing great; and Pat, he can get hot any moment. They obviously have four really good players.

But I feel like -- I feel the same way with my team. I feel like we can get really going at any time, any of us, and put some really good scores, and that's what we're going to try to do.

Q. What's your approach to all the music being played during the competition? Do you like that?

SERGIO GARCIA: Try not to dance too much. Yeah, obviously I do. I love music. I always listen to music when I'm at home practicing. I usually put music on while I practice.

It's nice to have it out there, not only for us but I think for the fans, also, to enjoy it. It makes it a little bit more relaxed, a little bit more easygoing, I guess.
