DANA OPEN PRESENTED BY MARATHON

September 3, 2022

Caroline Masson

Sylvania, Ohio, USA

Highland Meadows Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. 6-under day for you to get up there in contention all over again. How are you feeling after moving day?

CAROLINE MASSON: Yeah, feeling good. Really nice to finish with three birdies. You know, I think I did the same thing as yesterday: Stayed patient, kind of waiting for the putts to drop.

Yeah, super happy about the day.

Q. The low scores were out there today, but those final three holes are crucial for everyone's round. Take me through what was working well there.

CAROLINE MASSON: Yeah, I hit a really good shot, second shot into 16 to probably six feet-ish, so really good chance there.

Glad to make that because the green is always a little slopey. Both 17 and 18 now had really good tee shots; hit the green in two both times, so actually had eagle putts, and hit two good putts.

So, I mean, you're hoping for one of them maybe to fall in, but hit two good putts, and easy birdies are always nice. I mean, the holes seem easy, but sometimes when you don't par -- you don't birdie those, you feel like you're actually falling back a lot.

So really nice to finish that way.

Q. After the last couple days that you've had here, how confident are you feeling in your game going into tomorrow?

CAROLINE MASSON: Yeah, super comfortable. I like the course. There is a big reason why I'm here this week. I was thinking about going through the schedule and thinking about where am I going to play, what am I going to skip. It was pretty obvious I like this golf course, so I was definitely going to come back.

You know, just trust my game plan, trust my shots, trust my putting. I feel like when, you know -- like my putting makes the big difference, and I think it's the same for everybody. You can hit it somewhat close all day long; still got to make the putts.

Just rely on that a little bit and just really excited for tomorrow.

Q. I did a little bit of research. Your win in 2016, Sunday, September 4th, 2016. Tomorrow is September 4th, 2022. What would it mean for you to grab another win tomorrow?

CAROLINE MASSON: A lot. A lot. You want to get the first win, and once you get that, I think the second one is maybe even harder.

But at the same time, I'm really pretty chill about everything. Yes, I want to win. That's what I work for. That's what I work towards.

But I'm not going to think about that much tomorrow. It's just about going through the motions, doing the same things, and obviously I like those numbers, so I'm going to take that and just try it run with it tomorrow.
