CANADIAN PACIFIC WOMEN'S OPEN

August 28, 2022

Nelly Korda

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Nelly Korda after the final round of the CP Women's Open. You think you had that last putt made?

NELLY KORDA: I mean, no, not after that -- I mean, it was such a long shot after that poor bunker shot and the poor approach in.

But I had a lot of chances out there. I had one after the eagle that completely 360'd on me, but that's golf. You hole out and then you get a really nasty lipout and it makes you really humble out there.

Q. Did you just get yourself a little bit too far behind to give yourself a true shot at it?

NELLY KORDA: No. I think I had a decent shot at it. I played good golf, and honestly, I'm just grateful that I am playing golf and I'm out here, and I'm enjoying every second of it.

How can you not with the crowds we had this week, the golf course that we got to play. It was in immaculate condition. I think like that it's hard -- it's obviously a little sad finishing second, or third, I don't know.

Q. Second.

NELLY KORDA: Okay, second. I don't know, but I was just -- it's exciting being in the hunt and in the second-to-last group, and I think I am grateful for every chance that I get.

Q. No. 12, yardage and club? What happened there?

NELLY KORDA: No. 12, the eagle? I wish I could tell you the yardage. I had a 9-iron. I had 9-irons in a lot today. I think I had hit it probably close to like eight times actually.

Yeah, it was a perfect. I think it was like 130 something.

Q. In the grand scheme of your season having won last week on the LET and finishing second this week, what does that do for your confidence as you move through the balance of the LPGA Tour season?

NELLY KORDA: Definitely a confidence boost. I've been actually quite close. I lost in a playoff earlier in the year in Michigan too. Game is trending in the right direction.

Still need to tighten up some loose ends I feel like, maybe improve on a couple different areas, but that's golf. That's what I love about it.

I feel like you can constantly improve. Every girl out here is improving. Paula played amazing this week and she went from -- I don't know if she even had her card last year to being a champion.

So anyone can win, and that's what's great about golf. Anyone that tees it up has a chance to win, because all the girls and all the guys are so good.

Q. How would you describe the crowds here compared to other events on the LPGA?

NELLY KORDA: Very passionate, especially for Brooke. It's honestly so cool to see. I love it. It brings a really cool atmosphere and I think all the golfers really try to soak it up.
