PINNACLE BANK CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY AETNA

August 14, 2022

Robby Shelton

Omaha, Nebraska

Press Conference

Q. Entering the day T5, two shots back, walking away with the win. Just walk me through how it feels to get your second win this season.

ROBBY SHELTON: It feels awesome to finally put a Sunday round together. It means so much. I've slept with the lead a couple times and almost let it slip. Coming from behind is kind of where I like to be, and just a solid -- a dream start. Just an incredible start, and hung on, putted well all week. Just a solid, solid week of golf.

Q. I keep hearing the best two courses this year are here and the BMW. You've won on both. What does that tell you about your game do you think?

ROBBY SHELTON: Yeah, it's cool. Every time I come to a course and see greens like this and see that there's some length to it, I'm just -- I feel like I'm set up well if I'm swinging well. It's pretty cool just to win on two really good courses.

Q. You won two times to get your card last time, you won two times. Kind of full circle for you. What's the difference in you heading back to the PGA TOUR this time?

ROBBY SHELTON: I think then I was just young and playing some good golf, but now I can put it together four days in a row for a string of tournaments, which is huge for me. I've been a little inconsistent the past few years, and just to be able to do this day in and day out, it means a lot.

Q. What was the highlight of your game this week if you could pin on one thing?

ROBBY SHELTON: Definitely putting. It saved me. The greens were perfect, and I had a lot of long putts made, and I made every putt that I needed to.

Q. Walk me through the emotion there waiting for Ben to make that putt or not.

ROBBY SHELTON: Yeah, it was pretty cool. I didn't want to stand there and watch, I might jinx myself. But I knew he had a slider coming in. It was a tough putt, but he gave himself a chance. But it feels pretty amazing just to get it done.

Q. Regardless you were going to celebrate today for getting a PGA TOUR card. Now it's like a double celebration. How excited are you?

ROBBY SHELTON: Yeah, I feel great, just to win this tournament, the last one of the season, just means so much. I can't wait to have a beer.

Q. What do the next couple of weeks look like for you?

ROBBY SHELTON: I'm probably going to take next week off. I needed a good week this week to kind of solidify that, and I think this does it. Probably a week off next week and then play the last two.

Q. To be able to share this with Kelsey, she was at both of your wins and now she's going to watch you get your card, how does that feel?

ROBBY SHELTON: It means a lot. She flew in, she had some trouble flying in, but she got here, and just having her here is huge, and to have her support is always great.

Q. Do you think Riggs is having fun?

ROBBY SHELTON: I think he is. I'm missing him a lot. I tried to think of him coming up 18 just to get my mind off of it, but it definitely worked.

Q. What was the highlight if you can pin on one thing of your round or your week? What would it be?

ROBBY SHELTON: The eagle today. Just being able to get that -- I was even through 3, kind of needed to be under par, and getting the eagle on 4 was huge for me.
