Kaitlyn Papp

Northern Ireland

Galgorm Castle & Massereene Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Kaitlyn Papp, and you had a round of 4-under today at Galgorm. How have you found the very sunny conditions that you've had for your first round?

KAITLYN PAPP: I think conditions were really pleasant, perfect temperatures. It was a little chilly to start, but then the sun was out. The wind was hardly blowing at all.

It is really ideal conditions. It made for kind of an enjoyable round.

Q. What would you say the strongest part of your game was today?

KAITLYN PAPP: I think my putting was really strong today. My first nine, on the back nine I didn't really hit it great off the tee, but just tried to stay really patient and just remember that it's just the start of the tournament, we're not finishing today.

So I think that kept me in it. I knew I had some good swings in me and my putter just kept me alive and allowed me to score.

Q. How have you found the course here at Galgorm?

KAITLYN PAPP: I think the course is great. It's in perfect condition. The greens are really nice, fast, and really smooth. It's definitely a treat to play here.

Q. Obviously in your rookie year on the LPGA. How have you been finding it?

KAITLYN PAPP: Rookie year has been good. Definitely a learning curve, and just trying to learn a lot about the tour itself and then me personally.

So, yeah, just like a big learning curve, but I've met a lot of nice people out here and played a lot great courses. I'm here in Ireland. It's my first time in this country, so pretty happy to be here.

Q. I was going to say, is this your first time in Europe, kind of played here?

KAITLYN PAPP: I've been to France and Germany before, but first time Ireland-UK area.

Q. How have you found Northern Ireland generally? Obviously you've had ridiculous weather.

KAITLYN PAPP: I know. I was honestly expecting some cold and raining weather. I kind of packed for all possibilities.

I'm very happy with this weather. Back home it's really hot, so this is a nice break.

Q. What have you been working on in your game recently?

KAITLYN PAPP: I've just been trying to clean up a few things, like everyone does, probably in the swing and putting.

But then I feel like I've done a lot of work on my mental game and just try to take what do I in the practice rounds into the tournament round and just stay calm and more patient with myself.

Q. And for tomorrow at Massareene, how will you prepare for that this afternoon?

KAITLYN PAPP: I'll definitely take it easy. Might go hit a few balls on the range, but then just rest. Yeah, just mentally get ready for tomorrow and try to plot my way around the course the same way I did today.

Maybe a few better tee shots, but, yeah.
