AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

August 7, 2022

Minjee Lee

Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. A fantastic championship here for you at the AIG Women's Open, can you reflect on the week for us, please?

MINJEE LEE: Yeah, I mean, I had a pretty solid week. I'm not sure what I'm going to finish but I feel like I played pretty good considering how windy it was all week. You know, missed some birdie opportunities here and there but I still played pretty solid today, so I'm happy with how I played.

Q. And another championship on links golf. Do you feel like every time you're coming back here to the AIG Women's Open you're learning more and more about that style of play?

MINJEE LEE: Yeah, I mean, I've always really loved links golf and just playing in the wind in general, and how challenging it is. Yeah, I kind of embrace it when I get the chance to come over here and play, so no, I always have lot of fun.

Q. This is obviously the last major of the year, and you won one this year. Looking back on 2022, what are your main takeaways?

MINJEE LEE: Yeah, anything like that I've had some really great finishes at the majors. I won the U.S. Open and I did really well at the KPMG, and I think I'm going to finish pretty well here, too.

I feel like I'm trending in the right direction, and pretty excited for the rest of the season.

Q. We were talking with your brother at St Andrews and he said you're much better than him, and I don't know if the result this week is proof of that. What do you think?

MINJEE LEE: At the moment I have a bit more experience under my belt but I think he's going to turn out to be a pretty great golfer. We'll wait and see.

Q. A little bit more seriously, now that you can play the same golf courses as the men play and you can measure yourself, how do you think women's golf is measured compared to men's golf in the same scenarios?

MINJEE LEE: I don't think we can really compare to be fair. We don't hit it near as far as they hit it, and I'm sure they might play the course a little bit longer, but I haven't seen them play on this golf course, so I don't know sort of what to even compare it on.

So I don't know, I don't really have an answer for that question.

Q. Did you love playing the Muirfield links this week, though?

MINJEE LEE: Yeah, I'm not sure if it's my absolute favourite but it was a great challenge.
