AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

August 5, 2022

Lizette Salas

Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Start with the good.

LIZETTE SALAS: The good is we had a really great back nine. Started birdie, birdie and just kept it boring and gave myself lots of -- I saved a lot of good pars and made the birdies I need to make and obviously 18 was not planned.

But just have to be ready to bounce back after that tomorrow and I guess considering last week how my arm was feeling, we weren't sure if I was going to play. There's lots of positives. As a golfer, no one likes to finish with double but you just have to forget about it.

Q. The conditions, changing all the time, it's going to be tougher this afternoon. So anything can happen.

LIZETTE SALAS: Yeah, anything can happen. I did what I could and I think 17 out of 18 holes were great. Just that one shot, but that's what the AIG Women's Open is all about is try to limit mistakes, and I did pretty good today. Happy with how I fought, and just have to be a little more I guess focussed tomorrow.

Q. I'm an optimist; so you are in the mix. Do you feel that you are in the mix?

LIZETTE SALAS: Oh, yeah, even without this, considering I'm still in the mix, it's a good feeling to have and yeah, just try to recuperate, recover and know that I have a battle this coming weekend and try to make a charge.
