AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

August 5, 2022

Celine Boutier

Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. What were your highlights today?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I think I had a decent amount of birdies today. I was able to hit it pretty close. I was especially happy with my birdies on 10 and 11 because those are not easy holes, especially with the strong wind left-to-right on 10. I feel like I was pretty satisfied with that.

Obviously also had a decent amount of par saves out there. I hit a few too many bunkers off the tees, so my par save on 18 was one of the highlights, too.

Q. So scrambling and putting were key?

CELINE BOUTIER: I think so. In general here, you're not going to hit every green, just because it's tough and it's playing long, especially the holes on the back that are into the wind. But today I feel like I had to scramble a little bit more just because I hit a few bunkers off the tee, so that was a little bit more difficult.

Yeah, I feel like this course you have to have a solid short game.

Q. Is there a special feeling of being in contention in such hard conditions; that you know you're there for the weekend?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, it's very gratifying. I feel like just making the weekend on a major is already pretty good. I definitely know that there's still a long way to go, so I'm just trying not to get too excited already because a lot can happen.
