Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Welcome to the LIV Golf Invitational: Bedminster post-round press conference. We are joined by all of our winners. Let's give them a round of applause.

(Applause.)

We have the Four Aces bringing home the team championship. We have Henrik Stenson coming in first followed by Matt Wolff and then Dustin Johnson. Over to you guys.

Q. First question for Henrik Stenson. Congratulations on your win today. Since you won $4 million, do you think maybe with some of that prize money you could give me some Ikea --

PAT PEREZ: He already asked this question. You wanted the custom sunglasses that he has.

Q. Can I have both?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: He can definitely get you a pair of sunglasses. He gets those for free.

HENRIK STENSON: We'll get you some. Don't worry.

Q. Henrik, yesterday I think you kissed your fairway wood at some point. How important was that club this week?

HENRIK STENSON: Yeah, it's been an important club most of my career I'd say, and yeah, I certainly hit some good ones this week. I think the golf course obviously set up nicely for me. It's a lot of positional play off the tee, and we surely found a big number of fairways this week.

First day in particular I played really, really solid. Yesterday was a little bit more of a grind, and then today we played pretty good for the most round. It was a little bit wobbly coming home, but we'll take it in the end, and yeah, the 3-wood didn't do me any harm.

Q. For the Four Aces, was there really much doubt about the outcome? How much different was it than Portland?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: I mean, Portland I felt like -- well, I think Portland was kind of the same as today. It got close in Portland with three or four holes to go it was close, maybe within two or three. But today through -- I think through 10 or 11 holes, I think we were tied, so it was a lot different. We knew -- obviously I was playing with Pat and we're all watching the leaderboard and especially watching the team score.

Today we knew we needed to play some good golf to finish if we wanted to win this tournament as a team, and also we were both right in the mix trying to chase down Henrik. If we wanted to put a little pressure on him, we had to make some birdies and play good coming home, coming down the stretch.

Q. Henrik, can you describe your swing of emotions the last 11 days, obviously beginning with the disappointment of the Ryder Cup decision and then coming here and trying to refocus yourself?

HENRIK STENSON: Yeah, it has been a bit of a roller coaster, no question. You all seen that, and we talked about it earlier in the week.

Now it's about looking forward, for me at least, and yeah, I'm super proud with the focus I managed to have this week and to get my game in -- I've been working pretty hard to get the game back in shape, and it's certainly going in the right direction as we know now.

Yeah, just thankful to the team that I work with and all the supportive from everyone. Yeah, super proud really to come out and grind it out like I did over the last three days and to sit here as the winner.

Q. Is this developing a sting off of what happened at the Ryder Cup?

HENRIK STENSON: I think they're two separate entities, yeah.

Q. Henrik, are you at all surprised you were able to put all that behind you and focus in? Obviously the first day the way you played and obviously carried it through?

HENRIK STENSON: I think there might have been a little bit of extra motivation in there this week. When we as players have that, I think we can bring out the good stuff. Yeah, I certainly did that this week.

I guess that's been a bit of a theme over the course of my career, I think, when I really want something I manage to dig a little bit deeper, and a lot of times we manage to make it happen.

Yeah, very pleased with that, and I'm looking forward to some rest now.

Q. Matthew, beautiful day out there today, very ballsy play. After today's performance would you consider changing your name from Matthew Wolff to Matthew Hogg?

MATTHEW WOLFF: Why did you think of Matthew Hogg?

Q. I mean, I don't know, just --

MATTHEW WOLFF: No, I think Wolfy is a pretty sick nickname, to be honest.

PAT PEREZ: Plus you have a head cover, too.

MATTHEW WOLFF: Yeah, I do have a head cover.

PAT PEREZ: Wolfy is great.

MATTHEW WOLFF: Other than that, yeah, thanks.

Q. Great wins today, huge paydays, congratulations to all of you up there. Henrik, you donate a portion of your winnings to your foundation, the Henrik Stenson Foundation. Obviously a big day for you and your foundation. Can you talk about what your foundation does and the great work you do with kids?

HENRIK STENSON: Yeah, like most of my colleagues, we're involved in different charitable things, and with our foundations, yeah, we do junior events, we do para golf tournament and some different camps for para golfers back in Sweden.

Yeah, we've done different things with junior golf. It's a game that a lot of people enjoy, obviously, and we want to get as much youth into the game, and that's a great way to make that happen. Got some good people that I work with, and yeah, we do some good stuff.
