TRUST GOLF WOMEN'S SCOTTISH OPEN

July 28, 2022

Georgia Hall

Troon, Scotland, UK

Dundonald Links

Quick Quotes

Q. Very, very well-played out there, tied for the lead, early days, but your reaction to your round?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, very happy with how I played today. Everything was pretty good. Didn't really miss a shot and managed to hole some good putts. Really happy and enjoying playing links golf again.

Q. For Scotland, conditions were kind this morning. Hardly any wind. It's a time to make a score, isn't it?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, definitely. Any time in the morning you know that you're probably going to have the easiest condition, and I tried to make advantage of that. I think it's going to be the same actually all day today. Yeah, see what tomorrow afternoon, what the weather brings then.

Q. You've had a couple of good finishes on this course haven't you. What is it about this particular course that you like?

GEORGIA HALL: It's proper links. It's really tough holes, as well, when you get kind of near the sea, the other side, I find it fairly easy to visualise shots. There's a lot of slopes on this course so I can have, I don't know, just like chip around and visualize and not just lob everything. You can chip around a lot. I really enjoy playing this course obviously. Happy with round one.

Q. Was it feeling free out there for you?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I played really well and hold some pretty good putts on my back nine which was actually the front nine. Just tried to take advantage of the good weather this morning.

Q. You said yesterday you love being back on links golf but didn't feel it with the weather, but it did with the course, you were just saying?

GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, obviously a links golf, not a lot of wind but we'll get some tomorrow afternoon. Tried to take advantage of having not a lot of wind and make some putts.

Q. Do you remember some shots where you did chip-and-run it and play it more along the floor?

GEORGIA HALL: A couple. But there's one on the par 5, I had to hit it over a slope and then let it run towards the hole. I actually cut a chip, if you know what I mean to get a left-to-right spin to avoid going on the right of the slope. Things like that, you don't really get in America. I really enjoyed that and I was happy with the up-and-down.
