Q. Well, Sophia Schubert, just had a big hug with mom. What a week. Just tell me some of the emotions your feeling right now.

SOPHIA SCHUBERT: You know, I want to cry. I want to cry tears of happiness. I'm proud of myself, proud of everyone that's helped me get to this point.

It came just short, but I know that I'll be back, so I'm really happy.

Q. What switch flipped for you? You've been having a pretty good season, but out here you looked like a whole 'nother level of Sophia Schubert.

SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Well, I mean, I had a lot of things. I have a lot of support back home and they've been telling me over and over again, you can do this. Just be confident.

I fixed my clubs a little bit. The lots and lies, honestly, I fixed those a few weeks ago and just hitting the ball straighter.

And lastly, I'm trusting in the process, trusting in God's plan for me. Whatever he wants is going to happen, and I take ease in that.

Q. Today you played really solid. You're going toe to toe with Brooke Henderson. In your wildest dreams was that something you would ever consider?

SOPHIA SCHUBERT: It was something that I always wanted. I knew I could get there. There was a little bit of doubt, but I mean, I couldn't be with better company.

Q. You've done a really good job this week of maybe slipping back a little bit and then coming right back out and making a birdie or backing up maybe an iffy hole. Was there a point in the round where it turned and you were like, okay, we got this?

SOPHIA SCHUBERT: Yeah, I was kind of nervous all day, a little more than yesterday, and Brittany just kept saying, Hey, just take a deep breath. It's okay. Just keep doing what you're doing.

I think the last few holes coming in actually I just had the sense of like peace, so I just hit every shot and kept going. (Laughter.)

Q. How aware were you of your position at that point in those last four or five holes?

SOPHIA SCHUBERT: I wasn't really. I had looked on probably 14 and saw that I was T1, and then after that I didn't look.

So I said to Brittany, I don't know where I'm at right now; after I hit that shot into the green and she told me. So that was kind of the first time.
