U.S. ADAPTIVE OPEN

July 18, 2022

Kurtis Barkley

Village of Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA

Pinehurst Resort & C.C. (Course No. 6)

Quick Quotes

Q. Can you tell me about your round today.

KURTIS BARKLEY: It was definitely up-and-down. I hit the ball well. A lot of good shots that ended up in bad spots.

Q. I know you started with a double bogey and then you had an eagle on the back. How were you able to stay focused and overcome that and make that great shot on the second half?

KURTIS BARKLEY: I had a mindset. I just take one shot at a time. Once the hole is over I don't really dwell on it. I just step up to the next tee and it's a whole new hole.

Q. Tell me about the experience of playing in the first round of the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open.

KURTIS BARKLEY: It was great. I can't believe we're here at Pinehurst. Yeah, there's not much more to say. The experience is amazing that we get to play in this atmosphere.

Q. You're one of the few Canadians in the field, so tell me about representing your country in a national championship, how that feels.

KURTIS BARKLEY: It's great to be some of the ones that were picked to come and play. We weren't sure how it was all getting picked. To be one of, I believe, seven, it's a pretty amazing feeling to come and represent your entire country.
