BARRACUDA CHAMPIONSHIP

July 15, 2022

Nino Bertasio

Truckee, California, USA

Tahoe Mountain Club

Quick Quotes

Q. 10 points on the day, really brings you into contention here after the second round. How are you feeling at the moment?

NINO BERTASIO: Pretty good. I actually felt like I played better yesterday, I just didn't make any putts. Still played solid today. Obviously got off to a slow start with a bogey on 10, but it's a tough hole. Then I bogeyed the last, which makes you kind of feel a little down. But still, a lot of positives. Putted a lot better today.

It's quite tricky in the afternoon, to be honest, because the winds are up. The ball is going a long way, and yeah, it's not easy out there. It's tricky.

Q. How difficult has the adjustment been coming over this week, playing at altitude and a different golf course, as well?

NINO BERTASIO: Yeah, to be honest, we play about the same altitude in Crans, so I've played there quite a lot, and I normally enjoy that. But yeah, the golf course is longer than Crans and you're hitting different shots, and the wind gets up here basically every single day in the afternoon. So it's a good test. But if you play well you're going to have a lot of chances. The greens are good. I think it's a very good test.

Q. How much are you enjoying the format?

NINO BERTASIO: It's a lot of fun. You know, you make a bogey, you only lose one. You make a birdie, you get 2. If you make an eagle you get 5. It's exciting. It's different. It's new. I like it.

Q. Have you changed the way that you play with this format?

NINO BERTASIO: Not really. You really have to think your way around here so I'm kind of keeping busy with that.

Q. What's the mindset going into the weekend?

NINO BERTASIO: Just keep playing well, same things, try and make obviously as many birdies as possible because 28 points is a lot in two days. But yeah, it can be done, and yeah, try and get as many as possible.
