Quick Quotes

Q. Great stuff today, if you're going to close out a tournament; that the way to do it?

RYAN FOX: Apart from bogeying the last. 18 was only bad shot I hit today and nice to see some putts go in. Been a weird week, shoot 64 in the first round, didn't miss a shot and same today, and then a little bit of scrappiness in the middle. I think it's going to be one short.

Q. At start of the day, what was your attitude and expectation?

RYAN FOX: Make as many birdies as possible, to be honest. I got off to a slow start and made a couple nice birdies down 4 and 5. Got hot with the putter on the back nine and made a couple. I little unfortunate to bogey the last. See what happens over the next hour or so.

I think if I would have parred the last I probably would have got a platform. It's not the easiest stretch of golf. 17 is a really good chance, but 18 is a pretty hard hole today especially straight into the wind. I feel like setting a score is easier than holding on to one. Might still have chance if I had parred the last, probably would have had a playoff.

To be honest, everything clicked. I actually through the front nine I had a couple chances and didn't convert them. On the back nine made a few nice putts and it was one of those days where everything kind of worked. Literally only hit one bad shot, the one down 18 and just happened to be in between clubs and went for a draw and pulled it a little bit.

You know, rest of the game was solid was it was most of the week. I just had a couple cold days with the putter in the middle but very happy with the game is at at the moment obviously.

Q. Closing 64, knowing where you were on the leaderboard, did you have a number in mind?

RYAN FOX: Yeah, 64 was probably the minimum today. I didn't go out with a specific number but I thought, you know, at least get to 16, had a chance. I think probably even where I am now is probably going to be one short.

But I'm very happy with how I played today and nice to be in the mix again.

Q. At what point in the leaderboard do you look at the leaderboard and think you've had a chance?

RYAN FOX: On 14, sort of looked at the leaderboard and thought still might be a couple back. Actually had that putt to tie the lead at the time. I was like, if I can get a few more coming in, I can set a score. Just one bad shot on 18 kind of killed me a little bit.

Q. Back-to-back weeks in contention, how do you carry that momentum forward?

RYAN FOX: Try not to do anything different. For me the next couple of weeks, I've played both the golf courses a lot, so it's going to be more about energy management rather than trying to find anything in the game. Obviously the game is in pretty good shape at the moment. Yeah, just go out, try to beat the golf course. That's what I've been trying to do the last few weeks and seems to be working pretty well.
