Quick Quotes Additional

ADRIAN MERONK: If I stayed patient, I knew there would be a couple of birdie chances coming in, so I focused on that, getting my pars in the middle of the round. And then yeah, just super happy to make the putt on 17 because that was such a relief, knew I had a three-shot lead going into the last, the hardest hole on the course. That was an amazing feeling.

Q. All of us have golfing heros growing up and you'll be responsible for a lot of young Polish golfers growing up. You will be making a difference. What does that mean to you?

ADRIAN MERONK: It means a lot. As I said before, it's one of my roles to grow the game, hopefully this will help a lot and I'll just keep going and yeah, hopefully there will be a lot of new people to the game.

Q. How will you celebrate this?

ADRIAN MERONK: I haven't thought about it yet. To be honest, I have two nice weeks coming in now, so probably celebrate after those two weeks. But yeah, I will definitely feel much better now playing the next two weeks.

I was aware of the score, I had a look on 14, and I knew there's a 17-under in the clubhouse, so I knew I have to do some birdies, and I did, which is fantastic and I'm very proud of that.

Q. When did you think it was safe?

ADRIAN MERONK: When I hit it on the green on 18. I knew 18 was the toughest hole on the course. With a three-shot lead I had to focus on those two swings and when I hit it on the green on 18, I was like, that's it. It's an amazing feeling.

Q. Was there a shot or hole you felt were a key to your round?

ADRIAN MERONK: A couple of par saves to be honest. On 11, and then on 13, the shot out of the trees, that was quite big I think just to keep the momentum. Just to be able to give myself a chance.

Q. You were already in The Open Championship, you play in Scotland next week. Does this change what you'll do the next couple of months?

ADRIAN MERONK: Yeah, to be honest, it's probably going to be just much easier to play. The tournament for me, I still enjoy it, but it will be even more enjoyment because out of this out of my brain and off my back. This season I had it in my mind that I want to have the first win, and finally I get it.

Q. Will you go to Scotland next week?

ADRIAN MERONK: I am, actually flying tonight yes.

Q. Scotland and The Open to follow this.

ADRIAN MERONK: Yeah, amazing, especially coming off three weeks break, this is an amazing start. Super excited for the next couple of weeks for sure
