HORIZON IRISH OPEN

July 2, 2022

Jack Senior

Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland

Mount Juliet Estate

Quick Quotes

Q. Third round 67 puts you in the lead. What was working so well for you today?

JACK SENIOR: I just think I putted really well. It's something that I've worked hard on. I really struggled on the greens last week in Germany. And went away, reassessed it, and it's worked well.

Q. Why do you think no one pulled away today, given the conditions?

JACK SENIOR: I think it was really tough as it was. I think we played first six holes and the conditions were really tough, and then obviously it brightened up a little bit. But at the end of the day, if you miss the fairways, then it is really, really testing.

Q. You've played in four Open championships, but you've never played the one at St Andrews. What would it mean if you were able to qualify for that?

JACK SENIOR: Yeah, it'd be great to qualify for The Open, as you say. But all I can do is keep committed to my shots, keep committed to my lines and see what happens.

Q. Great stuff today, Jack. It's a bunched leaderboard. You've got an opportunity to take that maiden victory tomorrow. How are you feeling about it?

JACK SENIOR: I'm feeling pretty confident. I felt like I hit the ball really well today and just really capitalizing the chances that I gave myself. Felt like my putting has been trending the right direction, but not quite been holing them, and it was nice to see them go in today.

Q. Huge crowds today. It was amazing to see. How infectious was the support?

JACK SENIOR: Yeah, it was great. Obviously it's great to be back playing in front of crowds. During the pandemic, it was really, really difficult. But, yeah, it's great to have the support and great to have the Irish people behind me.

Q. And what's the game plan going into tomorrow?

JACK SENIOR: Just pretty much the same. I won't really change anything. I think the wind is probably going to be in the same direction, conditions won't really change overnight. So just keep going out there and committing to the shots and see where it ends up.

Q. Got two wins on the Alps Tour, two wins on the Challenge Tour. What would it mean for you to win the Irish Open tomorrow?

JACK SENIOR: Yeah, obviously it'd be a massive thing for me. But I'm not looking ahead. I've got 18 holes ahead of me. Just got to -- like I said, I just got to stand there, commit to my lines, commit to my putts and see where it takes me.
