Quick Quotes

Q. Shane, how special was the last four holes for you?

SHANE LOWERY: It was pretty cool. To be honest, I had kind of resigned myself to the fact I was going home, packing my bags. Don't know if I've ever birdied the last four to make a cut so that's a first. I'm just happy to be in the weekend. Everybody knows how much this tournament means to me and how much I want to be here. Quite a few people come to see me play and nice to have them here now and I'm looking forward to the weekends.

Q. Three back behind the leader, can you describe to us the atmosphere?

SEAMUS POWER: It was definitely a first for me. It was a lot of fun coming down near the end and obviously Shane holing the putt on the last that was as loud a roar as you hear on a course especially on Friday. Nice to be a part of it. Delighted I was able to make a putt. To be honest I took an extra couple seconds.

Q. What's the tactics for the weekend?

SHANE LOWRY: I need to go low tomorrow but I feel like found something today on the back nine so I'm excited for the weekend and the Pro-Am Monday, Tuesday and The Open. Honestly I was telling myself, I think that's why I let myself play good golf -- I told myself coming down the last few holes that I felt like I found something on the greens and found something mentally. I'm looking forward to the weekend.

SEAMUS POWER: For me I'm going to try to do more of the same. I actually was very pleased on the back nine. Hit some better shots than I've been hitting. I look the greens. Putter has been rolling well so hopefully more of the same on the weekend.

SHANE LOWRY: I was disappointed coming down the last few holes. Just felt like I couldn't get anything going but I felt that today and on the back nine felt like I found something in my putting and my game that I was not happy missing the cut but I would have been happier leaving here today because I felt like I found something. I'm optimistic for the weekend. I know I need to go shoot two low scores to have a good week. Playing with Seamus, he's playing tied fourth or fifth and he's only five ahead of me. If I can put a low one in the morning, you never really.
