U.S. SENIOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

June 26, 2022

Rob Labritz

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Saucon Valley C.C. (Old Course)

Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Rob Labritz, 3-over 74. You're looking like you're going to be T-4. You've gotten yourself into next year. How does that feel?

ROB LABRITZ: Yes, that is awesome. I am pumped to be exempt for next year. If I can do that in all the other majors, then yes, that's the goal, right? You don't want to have to qualify again.

Q. Wrap up this week a little bit.

ROB LABRITZ: Oh, my goodness, wrap it up. How do I wrap it up? The people and the fans out in Pennsylvania and Saucon Valley were amazing. The golf course was unbelievable. The superintendent, all the USGA -- I mean, you guys did a great job. It was a phenomenal, phenomenal tournament. Great week.

Q. What did you prove to yourself about your game?

ROB LABRITZ: I proved to myself that I'm feeling more and more comfortable. I'm feeling comfortable. It's not one of those things where I'm nervous. I don't feel like I'm out of my skin. I feel like I belong. I know I can win out here.

I'll say it again: I know I can win, and I'm going to win. It's just a matter of time. I'm improving, I'm getting better.

Q. Being so close, being from Pound Ridge, how many ticket requests did you get over the weekend? Did they all show and how much did they help you?

ROB LABRITZ: People were great. The second part of the question, I'm sorry?

Q. Did they all come out, and how much did they help you today?

ROB LABRITZ: We had a huge contingent of my team at Glen Arbor, my family, members, members from my other clubs that I've been at, friends. I mean, it was amazing.

Then we made some new friends here this week at Saucon Valley, which is really, really cool. It's so cool how the crowd got behind me. I can't wipe the smile off my face. I'm trying, I'm trying, but I can't do it, and I'm blessed.

Q. What's next for you schedule-wise?

ROB LABRITZ: I've got a week off and then the Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS in Akron, Ohio, then I go to the British Senior Open.

I don't know if this gets me exempt into that. I hope maybe that it will so I don't have to qualify, but we'll see.

Q. We were talking to your son out there and he was talking about the days you brought him to the club 10, 15, years ago. What were those days like for you?

ROB LABRITZ: I got to hang out with my son and teach him from the hole backwards. I taught him how to putt first and how to chip and how to pitch. He's got an amazing game.

His mom and I went through a divorce, so I got to hang out a lot with him on the golf course. For me, the golf course is my sanctuary, so to bond with my son out there, it's gravy.

It's nothing I can explain. He's such a good boy and he's got so much talent to play. I wish he loved it a little bit more.

Q. You brought -- there's not a lot of players who bring their kids inside the ropes. Why today? And during a round.

ROB LABRITZ: I've done it all the time. Any time I see my family out there and my daughter's walking the fairways and she's screaming da-da, I just love my kids. I wish I could pick up all the kids out here and give them hugs. People would look at me kind of weird.

I just love being with my family, the support they show me. For them to be here this week, it was amazing. It was a cherry on the top.

THE MODERATOR: Rob, we enjoyed you all week. Congrats on a great week.

ROB LABRITZ: Yes. We'll see you all next year in Wisconsin.
