June 24, 2022

Thongchai Jaidee

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Saucon Valley C.C. (Old Course)

Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Thongchai Jaidee, 2-under. What's been working well?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: I have good confidence. I won the last two weeks. I think it gives me a lot of confidence to get back here and try to keep the ball in play. More important thing, because keep the ball in fairway more important.

I play very good for both yesterday and today. I'm not miss fairway yesterday; only one fairway miss it today.

I think a bit tired today because with early start, but I go -- I think fog delay give me a lot -- I think I use a lot of energy today.

I think -- mainly today I have one three-putt. I'm missing a lot of greens. I think we have good up and down. I chip in on No. 6; make me a lot different, you know.

Try to get par from there, and then lucky we made chip-in from that.

I think the game is okay. Try to made the cut, the most important thing, and I think finally we have 3-under par for two rounds. I think continue to the weekend.

Q. How's the course playing compared to yesterday?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: I think the course plays better than yesterday. Yesterday was pretty soft. Today I think a bit -- some spots is like quite firm. I think that -- I think drying it up going to be fun for tomorrow.

I think today I think I played not very good. I holed a putt, and then some is chip-in that make me a lot confident.

Q. You made five birdies today. What were you doing well? Was it the putter or you're striking the ball well?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: I think we played iron very well today. I think driver still a little bit I think on left. I think putting is -- made a lot short putt for three hole today, one three-putt.

All the birdies, we make it close, and then I think is the game plan very important in here. Keep the ball in play because the rough is very thick. You never know about the lie. Try to get on the fairway. I think a lot of people try to do that.

The course is very difficult. I know the condition is the fairway is soft, the green is softer. I think it's softer, but it's okay. It gave me a chance to attack the pin.

Q. You had gotten yourself to 3-under I think early on the back nine and then lost a couple of shots. Was there something on the front side early that maybe turned your round around, maybe the birdie on 2?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: I think the front nine is okay, but only thing we miss a lot of short putts. I miss a lot like three and four feet for make par, but fortunately we are confident that like maybe losing a little bit, get back on the back nine, try to make birdie on par-5s when we can.

Fortunately, we have 10 hole we have second shot, and No. 1 we hit left and make good par from there.

I think I'm very happy with my round today. I think I played yesterday better than today, but today a couple holes we hit closer.

Q. Was there anything physically about your game from winning two weeks ago that carried over?

THONGCHAI JAIDEE: It make me a lot confident. Try to get my putts -- working on my putting. I think driver is great and irons is okay.

But the more important you make the confident by putting, make me a lot confident back to play this golf course.

I don't care about play left or right, but if you make confident back, try to get putting anyway.
