U.S. SENIOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

June 24, 2022

Tracy Phillips

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Saucon Valley C.C. (Old Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. Just a summary of today's round. Pretty clean round.

TRACY PHILLIPS: Yeah, it was. I didn't drive the ball as good as I would have liked. So it was kind of a hard 69. But fortunately, some of the drives were far enough offline that it was out of the really big stuff and I was able to get a club on it. So that helped.

Q. You got the short end yesterday, but difference on the course?

TRACY PHILLIPS: Yeah, the golf course -- I forget what hole it was, maybe No. 5. We hit 5-wood into it yesterday, and today I hit 8-iron into it. That tells you the difference of the softness. The ball was just drowning yesterday.

Q. How do you see the course playing throughout the weekend?

TRACY PHILLIPS: It's just going to get probably faster and firmer. It's a great golf course. You've just got to put the ball on the fairway. That gives you opportunities to put the ball into the greens. Maybe not necessarily going at the pins, but put it in places where you have your best cuts at it.

Q. And highlights for today?

TRACY PHILLIPS: I just hung in there where I hit some bad drives and was able to kind of gut it out and made a couple of key putts I needed to make, second putts. All in all, it was a very good round.
