KPMG WOMEN'S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

June 24, 2022

Hannah Green

Bethesda, Maryland, USA

Congressional Country Club (Blue Course)

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Here with Hannah Green after a round of 69 here on Friday at the KPMG Women's PGA. A bit of a nicer day today. A good round today. Tell us the story of your round. How do you feel you played today?

HANNAH GREEN: I feel like I played good. I didn't hit as many greens as I would have liked coming down the stretch, but really happy with 3-under par.

Unfortunately, three-putted my last hole, so could have been possibly playing in the final group, but I'm still happy with where I am coming into the weekend.

THE MODERATOR: You're still right now about six strokes off the lead, depending on where In Gee goes. Still anything is possible. What's the game plan going into the weekend where you're in the thick of things, but still there's that one person that's maybe pulling away a bit?

HANNAH GREEN: It's going to be hard. As the course dries up, I think it will make it more difficult. I feel like today was still pretty soft, but the fairways were kind of releasing a little bit more. That was nice.

Just going to just try and keep on shooting 3- or 4-under par each day, and hopefully that will be enough come Sunday.

THE MODERATOR: Is it perhaps getting back to the course of somewhat that you saw earlier in the week before the rain?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, definitely. It feels like kind of what we played in the practice rounds, so it actually has dried up significantly quickly. Hopefully it just gets firmer.

Q. Hannah, everyone yesterday talked about how long the golf course was playing. Was it playing shorter today?

HANNAH GREEN: Oh, yeah, definitely. I don't know if it's just because the front nine we had the rain into the wind on the long holes. It was long.

Like, I hit 5-woods into a par-5. The ninth hole was, obviously, the hardest hole yesterday. I saw some stats on Twitter.

Today was a lot easier and a lot shorter clubs.

Q. How many head covers did you pill off today?

HANNAH GREEN: None.

Q. You had iron approaches into every --

HANNAH GREEN: I had still 5-irons and 4-irons and stuff, but no 5-woods or hybrids.

Q. I know In Gee is not done with her round, but how can you kind of sum up what she's doing out there?

HANNAH GREEN: It's really impressive, even to see the stats of her strokes gained yesterday. She probably feels like today is the easier conditions, and she should be shooting 8-under again, but it's hard to back up a round like that no matter how easy the golf course, and this is a major week at a major venue.

It's going to be hard. You don't want to get too down on yourself because it's a tough week. She's playing really well, so good on her.

Q. Are you hoping that it gets tougher and tougher as the days go on?

HANNAH GREEN: I do. I would like to see this course a little bit firmer. I feel like with wedges today we were worrying about how much they were going to spin back, so if we can see them bounce and release a little bit more, I think that would suit me.

Q. Did Karrie watch you today?

HANNAH GREEN: She did. She came out for a few holes, but she looked really tired because of, obviously, this afternoon. I was, like, wow, she made it. I was very honored. Thanks, guys.
