THE MODERATOR: Here with Jennifer Chang, who has come in with a 2-under round of 70. That's a great way to start a major championship. One, two, three, four birdies, two bogey on your card. How do you feel you played today?

JENNIFER CHANG: I think I played great golf today, I mean, considering the conditions. I saw the scores this morning. It seemed like it was going to be a grind out there, so I just told my caddie, Will, we have to stay patient.

Luckily, I executed a lot of great shots, pulled off some good saves, on so I'm very happy with the round.

THE MODERATOR: What are some of the moments that really stood out to you, some of the saves or good moments you mentioned?

JENNIFER CHANG: Just making birdies out here. I know it plays tough. I think the last -- on 18 and 9 were the only two holes I bogeyed, so not what I wanted, but obviously, still happy with the 2-under.

THE MODERATOR: Absolutely. How much did you pay attention this morning? I know In Gee's round is like a total outlier. What course was she playing? How aware were you? Had you talked to anybody? How aware were you of the conditions this morning?

JENNIFER CHANG: My caddie Will and I talk about this too. I think I perform better in tougher conditions versus just a birdie-fest type course.

I think this suits my game really well. I feel like I've been super consistent off the tee, hitting as many greens as possible. So I think it's worked out really well for me.

THE MODERATOR: This is definitely a long hitter's golf course. Is this a course that seems to set up well for you, do you think?

JENNIFER CHANG: Yeah, I feel like I hit it pretty average. I gained some distance, especially with my irons. The majority of the holes I think besides the par-3s where I've had a hybrid in, I've hit irons most of the time, yeah.

THE MODERATOR: Well, tomorrow you'll be out in the morning. You won't be the last one in here at 8:00. A quick turnaround for you. What's the game plan now going into tomorrow?

JENNIFER CHANG: Just the same thing that I've been doing. I try not to put too much pressure on myself. So I'm just going to go out there, hit fairways and greens, and hopefully make putts.
