THE MODERATOR: Here with Nasa Hataoka. 1-under 71. Pretty quiet day. Just two birdies. One bogey. How do you feel you played today?

NASA HATAOKA: I had a solid round. I was really dialed in today.

THE MODERATOR: We heard from a lot of people that the front nine was difficult, but you had all pars. What were the conditions early this morning for you?

NASA HATAOKA: Even without the rain and the wind, the front nine is long to begin with, and I had some long distances left on my shot to the green, but I had a couple of great par saves.

THE MODERATOR: Overall, what are your thoughts on Congressional, on this golf course? It's big. It's long. How does it fit your game?

NASA HATAOKA: The clubhouse is so large that I can get lost in it, and the course today felt even longer under the conditions.

It was a tough round, but for the first round I had a good start.

THE MODERATOR: I do have In Gee currently 8-under with one hole to go. How spectacular is that round? You played this golf course. How hard was that for this golf course?

NASA HATAOKA: I think that's an incredible round. The greens may be a little bit softer, but even so, I think it's just an amazing round.
