Q. 7-under and currently leading, you must be satisfied?

ALESSANDRA FANALI: Yeah, I'm very satisfied. Very good day, birdie, birdie, first two holes and kept going. Made other two birdies and was 4-under after 11 holes. Then it got a little bit slow, made some bogeys, and finished good with a birdie on 18.

Q. You've played some tournament so many times, five times you were mentioning. It must be satisfying to get up at the top and show some dominance early?

ALESSANDRA FANALI: Yeah, it does. I actually like this tournament. I've been playing very good here so I'm excited for the next days.

Q. How do things change for you now into the match play?

ALESSANDRA FANALI: You just go for it. Don't even think about the score. There are some holes here that you have to be careful about the match play. Doesn't really matter. I have to be careful but depend on the other player, too.

Q. Being a top qualifier, people will obviously see you and know that you're a threat. Do you think the competition will be high out there?

ALESSANDRA FANALI: Yeah, I mean, we'll see. We have a saying in Italy that we'll never say right now because it's not good luck. But I'm excited for the next couple of days.

Q. What would it mean for you in your career if you were able to continue on this form throughout the week and potentially win the whole thing?

ALESSANDRA FANALI: That would be nice. It's my last time playing this tournament because I'm turning pro in the summer. It would be nice for sure.

Q. Tell us about that segue into turning professional.

ALESSANDRA FANALI: I'm going to do LPGA qualifying and LET qualifying, and then we'll see. If I make the LPGA, I'll pore sure play there. If not, I might do some American and your even tournaments.

Q. And this form not a surprise for you, you played on LET last week and made it to a playoff.

ALESSANDRA FANALI: Yeah that was awesome. I came back from the U.S. in college and I was happy to be home. It was fun. I played very good, too. It was just a beautiful week for sure.

Q. That must give you such a big confidence boost to be able to match up with the pros?

ALESSANDRA FANALI: It did. And it feels like I'm playing a different golf right now mentally. It helped.
