WOMEN’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

June 20, 2022

Louise Duncan

Hunstanton, England, United Kingdom

Quick Quotes

Q. Thoughts on your performance today?

LOUISE DUNCAN: Bit of a mixed bag, really. Started off with a good bogey to be fare. I got a wee bit unlucky with some bunkers, but yeah, managed to steady the ship and got back to level and then just kind of dropped a few shots coming back in.

But overall, happy with that, and I know I can build on that tomorrow and hopefully make the cut. It's tricky out there, just need to not have any disasters.

Q. The wind's up today and the weather conditions are a bit trickier. Is that a factor how things unfolded?

LOUISE DUNCAN: Not really to be honest with you. I'm used to the wind, so I just kind of try to hit greens and 2-putt, really. Just tried to make pars and not any disasters as I said.

But I'm happy with how I played. I haven't played all week coming back from the Curtis Cup, so I'm happy with how that went.

Q. It's a long-term game, obviously you have to get through stroke play before you get to the match play. Is it a case of getting through that stroke-play qualifying and resetting for the match play stages?

LOUISE DUNCAN: 100 per cent. It's happened so many times that the last person gets in, beats the top seed. So I just need to get through the stroke play and I'll be happy.
