RBC CANADIAN OPEN

June 11, 2022

Adam Svensson

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

St. George's Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. This is your best round of the tournament so far. What were you seeing that was different this morning?

ADAM SVENSSON: Just kind of the same game plan. I just getting more comfortable with the golf course. I was telling the guy over there that I only played eight holes coming into this week, so just getting more comfortable with the lines and I'm hitting it well. I made some nice putts today. I didn't have any mistake, I wasn't really out of play, just a very nice, relaxing calm round.

Q. You really moved up the leaderboard with your round. Obviously it's moving day, but how does that set you up for tomorrow?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, just try my best, go out there, shoot a low one. But I'm still going to play for par and if I make a couple birdies here and there it happens, it happens. But it's nice to just make the cut and play well in Canada.

Q. Graeme DeLaet was saying that he was a player that used to sort of plot it around and he mentioned you as somebody that can really go low. What is it about your game you think that gives you that opportunity to shoot low ones frequently?

ADAM SVENSSON: I think if you get it in play, I try and just get the ball in play and then my iron game's pretty good. I hit my distance, I feel like. So I don't really fire at too many flags, I just kind of hit the middle of the green, pull it or push it a little bit here or there and you're close. But, yeah, that's kind of how I do it.

Q. Talk about maybe some of the energy you got from the crowd today back on home soil that's got to feel good.

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, it was amazing. 16 I haven't had a roar like that in years, just coming up to the tee box. So it's a great feeling. And you're nervous on that tee as well. I hit a great shot and made birdie. But, yeah, it's just awesome.

Q. You had a chance to play eight holes before the tournament started, you got three rounds under your belt now. Where does this stack in some of your favorites in the country?

ADAM SVENSSON: It's up there. I got a chance to play Memorial last week and that's probably one of my favorite golf courses and it kind of reminds me of this. So this place is really special. It's really cool.

Q. Can you shout out any other Canadian courses that you love that might come to mind or no?

ADAM SVENSSON: Yeah, there's a course in Toronto here, I forget the name of it. It's super hard.

Q. The National?

ADAM SVENSSON: The National. There you go. I played that course, a tournament there, and I think I shot 8-over and was in a playoff or something like that.
