Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Moriya. You just came off a 6&5 victory here at the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play presented by MGM Rewards. Tell me, are you happier with the win or happier to come off the golf course early? Which one?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Both. Well, you know, on the back nine the wind is kind of drop down a little bit, and also like when you play the match play and you finish the match pretty quick, it's just like both is good.

Q. Right. And how do you find the competition? I know you went up early and you sort of never lost it. What was going so well for you competitively?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Well, it just like -- I think, you know, like pretty much just like on this golf course like, you know, you just have to stay patient. The greens getting a lot more firmer so like you can't be so aggressive.

So I just kind of like trying to play my games and then like (indiscernible) it a little bit better.

Q. You said you're trying to play your game. What is your game? What's the game plan? What's the strategy, has been the last two days?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Well, it's more like where are the angle that like you want to put yourself to just to had an easier for the next shot. That's one.

And then second is like, you know, up and down around the greens, you just have to, you know, like stay patient. Just like this golf course really like keep you on the toe. You know, like you just have to stay on all the time.

Q. I don't know if you know this, but and you Ashleigh are now tied at the top of the leaderboard. You have a point and a half each. Does that sort of change your game plan or your mentality going into tomorrow? Do you think you have to play more aggressively? More conservatively?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: I don't think anything change. Match play, like you start fresh every day and you play with different persons. I mean, you could shot like 6-under and lost the match.

Match play you never know what's happen. Just go out and enjoy it, play your games, and I think if it's your time, it's your time I guess.

Q. Do you enjoy the match play format? Have you had a lot of experience playing match play events?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Not a lot of experience of the match play, like but we play a little bit of the match play growing up. I mean, you know, like we only had one match play a years and I really enjoy it because we don't get to play match play a lot.

Especially since I turned pro. Like we don't really have a match play.

Q. And I know your sister is here in the booth with you. Do you guys spend a lot of time on the course together? I'm sure you spend time off the course. You guys see each other a lot on the course. What's it like being out here with her?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: It's great always had sister and someone you know they always support you 100%. I mean, nothing I could ask for, like nothing better I could ask for.

And, you know, good thing this week is we don't have to play with each other -- I mean against each other.

Q. I was going to ask, do you want to play against each other or do you not want to play against each other? How is that going to go?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: We used to. It happen in the past, but of course we don't want to play against each other. But if we have to, we have to. We just always really competitive and we like really want to beat each other.

Q. How do you find the conditions? I know you mentioned the wind died down a little bit on the ninth. Was it heavy earlier in how to you manage that?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: I would say on the front nine it's very tough, just the golf course and the really firm greens, and also when the wind pick up it just make everything tough, like a lot more tough.

But, you know, everyone have to play it the same winds, so it just, you know, like -- and you only have to play with one person in the match play, so I just don't want to be like -- put it like I don't like it or anything, it's just like it is what it is and you just play with it.

Q. Yeah, and coming off a tie yesterday, so you played all 18 holes yesterday, and then thank goodness you got off the course early. How are you managing the strenuous nature of match play? 18 today; 14 the next day. How are you handling that?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Well, I mean, of course just like what I say, like in the match play you just want to finish as soon as you won.

When it's happen to go all the way to 18 just like -- like yesterday and today is really different situation. Like I'm like 3-down front nine and I just like trying to get back to, you know, like back to all square.

And it just like yesterday I really enjoyed it and I think I just kind of gave myself chances. You know, it's just a different strategy.

Q. And how are you looking forward your match tomorrow with Jeongeun Lee6?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: Just what I say. It's like I really looking forward for another match of course, but just what I say: just go out and have fun. You never know what's going to happen in the match play.

Q. Exactly. So are you looking forward to the weekend or just one day at a time?

MORIYA JUTANUGARN: I would say just when you're playing match play just have to play one match at a time. You never know, the person you play with could made like eight birdies on that day or you both might had not a very good day, like both of you.

But I don't know what's going to happen.
