ARAMCO TEAM SERIES - BANGKOK ROUND ONE

May 12, 2022

Patty Tavatanakit

Bangkok, Thailand

Thai Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Very well played out there. Obviously two events going on this week; you're doing well in both of them. First of all, let's talk about the team performance out there. How was it playing as part of the team and leading to a good score?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: It was really fun and relaxing. I kept my round going as well. It is a little different, like the team format is a little different. When I played in college we don't play in the same group.

But to be able to play with everyone at the same time and make birdies, cheering them on, it's a really good feeling.

Q. Talked to players before who have done well individually in the team. Say is sort of relaxes them a little bit because golf is obviously a lot in the mind and they feel the pressure is a little bit off, and then end up with a good score. Is that something you were feeling as well?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, definitely. I was really calm and I feel like mistakes, fine, because I got other people there as well.

Q. You've had a very consistent and good season so far, but coming back to Bangkok, how is that with the pressure on I guess a little bit on your shoulders? You want to do well here I guess.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Uh-huh. I want to do well everywhere I play. You know, I treat every week just like a normal event regardless of where I am, so I'm just here to play another tournament.

Q. How do you feel the course is playing out there? Seems to be in excellent conditions. The greens seem pretty true.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, really good. Lots of greens out there, so quite a little bit of thought and read actually into before hitting putts.

So I've got my friend, Dan, on the bag. He played here in an event, so he kind of helped me out a little bit on the green.

Q. We saw a little VT that you did for us before the event and you were saying how you need to read the grains on the green.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah.

Q. You feel like you read them well?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah, today, particularly really well. Was surprised actually I didn't really get right reads or right breaks on the practice rounds, but today I think I'm a little bit more focused and Dan really helped me.
