DIO IMPLANT LA OPEN

April 24, 2022

Hannah Green

Los Angeles, California, USA

Wilshire Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Hannah Green. Solid effort but just couldn't seem to make enough birdies to catch up. How would you assess your week over all? Solo second is pretty solid.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, definitely really happy with how things are trending. It was nice to be a bit more consistent. Last week I got off to a great start and then just couldn't maintain it in Hawaii.

So I feel like once I get the putter hot I'm pretty excited to see what's to come.

Q. What's been the key to that consistency?

HANNAH GREEN: I guess I've had good results here at Wilshire before. I came tied third so I kind of knew that it was possible to have a good result here.

Next week -- every course is very different, but I just had good feelings. Just it was nice to see some putts go in today. Just made my confidence go up a little bit higher.

Hopefully I can continue that into next week and the rest of the year.

Q. I don't know if a lot of people know, but you and Nasa are actually quite good friends. Was that kind of a fun -- I know final round you're going head-to-head, but was that a fun pairing today?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, definitely. I've known Nasa for years. We played amateur golf together. We played Queen Sirikit Cups together; we played a Patsy Hankins Trophy.

So it was really cool to see Nasa. She's obviously a very successful player, but it was really nice to be alongside her winning and just along for the ride, I guess.

Q. Yesterday you mentioned that you needed to put some pressure on her early. You made some birdies early on. You lipped out on 2.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah.

Q. But yet every time she seemed to kind of match you.

HANNAH GREEN: Uh-huh.

Q. A little bit frustrating that you weren't able to put that pressure on even though you were playing well?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah. I mean, she holed some great putts and you got to take them while you can here, because sometimes you can miss some short ones.

But Nasa played solid all day. On the 9th hole I said to Nate, like I really need an up or down here -- my caddie. I need to put as much pressure on her as possible because obviously anything can happen down the stretch.

She played great, so credit to her.

Q. Having seen her play a lot, how would you rate today's round compared to other times you've played with her?

HANNAH GREEN: Feel like every time I play with Nasa she's really solid with everything. I don't think everything was like really great. I feel like she's just consistent. Like off the tee I think she hits it a good length and very accurate, and then even into the greens she hits it close.

So I feel like maybe her game, it's kind of similar to us. Like maybe just depending on putter, if things go in or not.

But she was great to play with, and hopefully can happen more often.

Q. How tough is this course to be a chaser on? Even though it's short it's not a course you can really get after.

HANNAH GREEN: Definitely. Even though you might have a wedge in your hand, even though you hit it to six foot, if you're above the hole you can't be too aggressive.

Today I felt like hit a lot of greens again but I never really hit it as close as I did the first few days. So having 30-footers and trying to actually hole them, let alone get them close, is quite difficult.

So trying to hit it as close as possible and actually make the putt is quite difficult.

Yeah, had good results the last couple years, so hopefully I can just be the leader by a lot like Nasa. (Laughing.)

Q. I have a question regarding coming to LA. I spoke to Adam Scott many times when he played Riviera. He said it's very similar to some of the courses in Australia. How much does that come into play when you come here? Is there a comfort level?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, definitely. I feel like this is probably the most -- like all the grass is very similar. We don't typically play on bermuda a whole lot, but with the raised greens and putting off greens and hitting hybrids and stuff like that, it's pretty similar to what we have to do in Australia.

So I think that's why I feel so comfortable here. I also have great housing, stay with them every year, and always eat really good food.

So, it's pretty good stop out on tour.
